SAFETY AT PASO ROBLES TANK

Safety goes hand in hand with quality work and quality production. As a fabrication, construction and maintenance company that works in the Petrochemical, Power Plant and water/wastewater treatment industries – we work in hazardous and potentially deadly environments. Our personnel must be capable of evaluating all safety concerns arising from other contractors working on site, toxic or explosive vapors, to working at extreme heights, and the dangers of hanging steel plate.  We employ full-time staff in multiple locations strictly  dedicated to the function of HEALTH and SAFETY. Our safety personnel has  25+ years of experience in the industry and continue to educate themselves on safety issues and concerns.  All of our Safety staff is at minimum OHSA 500 with additional certifications between the group.  At Paso Robles Tank, we regularly train our office, shop and field personnel on proper safety awareness and injury prevention.

Paso Robles Tank Safety Program Summary:

At Paso Robles Tank we believe in Safety + Quality = Production. Safety is the first priority at Paso Robles Tank.

  • All new hires are screened, drug tested and trained on 28 safety modules ranging from hazardous materials to confined space training before they are allowed to work on our job sites.
  • Existing employees are trained on new health and safety concerns and receive refresher courses on existing safety expectations.
  • Every morning, all Paso Robles Tank crews are required to have a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) / Tailgate meetings to discuss the day’s work plans and any safety concerns that could arise from that work.
  • All Superintendents and Foreman attend a yearly safety training meeting at our facilities.
  • All Field Foreman are OHSA-30 or greater
  • Paso Robles Tank performs ongoing safety manual audits that keep us up-to-date with the industries best work practices. Our dedicated Safety team visits our jobsites periodically to ensure our projects are working safely. The safety managers confers with our Field management following the audit to strive for perfection.
  • We believe in the Behavioral Based Safety approach to safety for ALL employees, including upper management. We like to get everyone involved in Safety Culture and implementation.
  • Subcontractor Qualification: Paso Robles Tank requires all subcontractors who work on our jobsites to submit pre-qualification forms before stepping onto our jobsites. We update our HS&E pre-qualification forms with our valued subcontractors yearly. This allows for an appropriate evaluation of a subcontractor’s ability to meet Paso Robles Tank’s requirements and gives our clients piece of mind we’re hiring qualified members to the project.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Paso Robles Tank purchases all PPE equipment for its employees. Hard Hats, Safety Glasses, Ear Protection, Harnesses, and FRS.  We believe in providing the right safety equipment for the job to ensure our worker safety.
  • Our Safety Management teams meets weekly via safety briefings to discuss the week’s projects, near-misses, any new safety hazards that will be encountered on new projects. Our team reports and sends out safety memos to the Company to share our findings and to encourage continued knowledge and safety implementation.
  • Monthly Safety Briefings are held with management to discuss any near misses or incidents. That information is then passed along to the crews along with any corrective measures that need to be implemented.
  • Stop Work Authority: If there is an issue on site that is noticed by any Paso Robles Tank staff member, any employee has the right to shut down all work on the jobsite to evaluate, correct, train or implement corrective measures. From the President to Foreman, to apprentice and office staff, if there is a safety issue, it needs to be brought up and discussed.
